Important information about your rental
On arrival you will be required to sign a rental agreement with the operators of Orange Rent a Car Australia. Here is a summary of the terms and conditions:
Definitions
The following definitions apply for the Terms and Conditions for Orange Rent a Car Australia.
- The Supplier means the operator of Orange Rent a Car Australia.
- The Client is also referred to as the hirer (s) you and your.

RENTAL PERIOD
One rental day consists of 24 consecutive hours.
MINIMUM HIRE PERIOD
Minimum hire period is 1 day
1. VEHICLE CONDITION AND RETURNA. Vehicle Condition
1. You acknowledge receiving the Vehicle from the Supplier in a good and clean condition (except otherwise specified in the Vehicle Inspection Report) including all accessories, tools, spare tyre, equipment from the Company.
2. You agree to maintain tyre pressure, fluid and fuel at the appropriate levels and to immediately report any defect to us.
B. Vehicle Return
You must return the Vehicle to the Supplier:
1. In the same condition as it was at the commencement of the Rental Period except for ordinary wear and tear (ORDINARY WEAR AND TEAR DOES NOT INCLUDE WINDCREEN AND OR TYRE DAMAGE)
2. To the location and on the date specified on part A (or sooner if the Supplier demands).
3. With the odometer seal intact. Should the odometer seal be broken, the person responsible shall be reported to an appropriate authority and you shall be liable for extra charges based on 500 Kilometers per day at 50 Cents per Kilometer.
4. The Supplier reserves the right to take possession of the vehicle without notice at your expense should any of the following occur:
a). The vehicle is illegally parked
b). The vehicle is used in violation of the law and/or of this agreement
c). The vehicle is apparently abandoned
SECURITY BOND
All vehicles rented will require a Security Bond. This is taken prior to departure and varies depending on the vehicle class hired. The Security Bond will be taken by Credit Card deduction or cash and will be refunded upon satisfactory return of the vehicle.
2. AFTER HOURS SURCHARGE FEE
All vehicles that are collected / returned outside of supplier's operating hours are subject to an additional fee and must be by prior agreement.
3. LATE RETURN
The Supplier offers a grace period of 15 minutes on the last day, after which late return charges are as follows:
1 -3 hours: 1/3 of the current daily rate will apply.
3+ hours: one full day of the current daily rate will apply.
3. EXTENSION
1. You shall notify the Supplier and obtain its authorization for extension of hiring period beyond the due in date and time specified in part A of the contract. Such notification must be done PRIOR TO the due in date and time.
2. Should you fail to obtain the Supplier’s authorization for extension prior to the due in time, your rental becomes overdue, in this case
a late penalty of $10.00 per day shall apply on top of the agreed daily rental rate for each day and part thereof.
3. Should your rental becomes overdue, the Supplier has the right to initiate a re-possession process without notice, in which case you shall be liable for a minimum re-possession cost of $275.00. As part of re-possession process the Supplier may also report the vehicle as stolen.
4. CANCELLATION
1. The initial deposit is non refundable.
2. If the Supplier has not been directly notified of a cancellation of vehicle hire 4 days prior to the pick up of the vehicle then full rental costs will be charged.
4. UNAUTHORISED AND PROHIBITED USEA. Persons strictly prohibited from driving the vehicle:
a). Persons other than those identified on Part A of the contract and/or other person the Supplier approved in writing.
b). Person who is not licensed for the class of the vehicle.
c). Person whose blood alcohol exceeding the lawful limit.
d). Person who use false identity and person who provide his or her identity to be used as false identify by other person.
e). Person whose driver license has been suspended, cancelled endorsed in the last three years.
f). Person holding driver license for less than two years.
g). Person holding Learners permit, Provisional or Probationary and Extraordinary Licenses.
h). Person under the age of 21 (higher age limit may applies to some vehicle classes)
B. The vehicle must NOT be used:
1. Outside the Area of Use specified on Part A of the contract.
2. On unsealed and/ or off road conditions under any circumstances. If it is a 4WD however, you may use the Vehicle on an unsealed road regularly maintained by a local, state or government body, authority or council, excluding those roads/ areas listed in clause 3.B.c. Driving any type of vehicles including 4WD on off road conditions is strictly prohibited.
3. In the following roads/ areas:
a). Fraser Island
b). On the Gibb River Road
c). On the Cape Leveque Road and to Windjana Gorge
d). On the Cardabia Ningaloo Road
e). On the Road from Jim Jim Falls to Twin Falls
f). On the Larapinta and Namitjira Drives, commonly known as the “Mereenie Loop”
g). Beyond Chilagoe or Georgetown in a westerly direction
h). Beyond Cooktown or Laura in a northerly direction
i). On the Burke Development Road
j). North of Maggieville
k). On unsealed roads north and west of Mt Isa
l). On the Bloomfield track
m). On the Savannah Way
n). On the Tanamai Track
o). On snow areas that require tyre chains to be fitted to the tyres of the Vehicle, or where there are signs indicating that tyre chains are required to be fitted to the tyres of the Vehicle
p). On beaches or through streams, dams, rivers, or flood waters
q). On flood prone roads or any roadway where the police or any other government authority has issued a warning or a caution
4. To carry paying passenger/s or to carry any inflammable, corrosive or explosive materials.
5. To propel or tow any other vehicle, trailer, boat or any other object unless a tow bar has been fitted to the Vehicle by the Supplier. All loads must be within the Vehicle’s design limit specified in the vehicle manual.
6. To carry more people and/or greater loads of goods than permitted by law.
7. To carry animal or pet.
8. To carry any water skies, surfboards, bicycles, canoes or the like of inside or on the roof of the vehicle.
9. In a manner and/or for purposes other than for which the vehicle was designed and constructed.
10. For racing, reliability and/or speed trials, pace making, hill climbing or tested in preparation of such purposes.
11. When it is damaged or unsafe
12. In a reckless and/ or dangerous manner.
13. For any illegal purposes including contravening any legislation or regulation that controls vehicular traffic.
5. FINANCIAL OBLIGATIONS
1. Joint hirers and ALL drivers are jointly and severally responsible under this agreement.
2. When you pay by credit card or direct the Supplier to bill charges to other persons, corporation, firm or organisation who or which fails to make payment when it is due, you shall immediately pay on demand the full amount due to the Supplier.
3. By entering into this agreement you authorize the Supplier to debit your credit card (and you shall pay on demand any balance owing) with the following charges:
a). All rental charges as specified on part A of the contract plus any subsequent rental extension/s of the original contracted rental period.
b). Damage Liability Fee and Single Vehicle Accident Liability Fee as specified on Part A.
c). All charges claimed to the Supplier due to parking or any other traffic infringements incurred during the period of hire or until such later time when the vehicle is returned to the Supplier and a processing fee of
$38.50 (GST inclusive) for each infringement processed.
d). Administration Fee of
$110.00 in case of accident regardless of fault.
e).
Minimum Cleaning Fee of $50.00 if you chose to smoke and/ or let any other person to smoke in the vehicle during your rental
f). All loss of or damage to the vehicle (including loss of use), Third party damages, legal expenses, debt collection fees, assessment fees, towing and recovery, storage and Supplier service charges where condition of this agreement has been breached.
6. DAMAGE COVER
The Supplier will grant a damage cover to a maximum amount of $50,000.00 (including legal costs incurred with the Supplier’s consent) for your benefit in respect of damages to the vehicle and an amount which you are legally held liable to pay as a result of an accident caused by Your use of the Vehicle, for loss or damage to property other than any property owned by you or any friend, relative, associate and any person known to You and/or any property in your physical legal control. This damage cover is subject to conditions and exclusions below.
A. Conditions of Damage Cover:
This cover is subject to:
1. You have not acted or caused any other person to act in any manner which contravenes this agreement including special conditions on part A of the contract.
2. Your payment of your damage liability (in respect of each separate incident) regardless of fault as specified on part A of the contract.
3. Your payment of your Single Vehicle Accident Liability (in respect to each separate incident) when no sufficient third party detail provided to the Supplier.
4. Your prompt report to the Supplier and to the police or other relevant authority and in any event within 24 hours, any incident involving loss or damage to the Vehicle or any other property or injury to any person.
5. You submitting any tests required by the police to determine the level of alcohol or drugs in Your blood.
6. You not leaving or running away from an accident without providing full particulars to all relevant parties and authorities.
7. You are not covered under any insurance policy.
8. You provide such information and assistance as may be requested and, if necessary authorizing the Supplier and its authorized representative to bring, defend or settle legal proceedings where the Supplier shall have sole conduct of the proceedings.
B. Exclusions to Damage Cover:
The following damages are not covered:
1. Damage or Loss arising from theft where the vehicle is left unlocked or unsecured or You have left the key in the vehicle or have failed to keep the keys secure
2. Damage or Loss to the Vehicle and third party property caused by You driving the Vehicle, after the Vehicle has sustained radiator fluid loss, transmission or engine oil loss or loss of tyre pressure
3. Damage or Loss to the Vehicle caused by use of incorrect type of fuel.
4. Damage or Loss due to loading and unloading other than normal wear and tear.
5. Damage or Loss where the Vehicle is totally or partially immersed in water regardless of cause
6. Damage or loss to the interior of the Vehicle, which requires professional cleaning and/or repair
7. Damage or loss to the roof or overhead of the Vehicle regardless of causes.
8. Damage to underbody of the Vehicle regardless of cause.
9. Damage to tyres of the Vehicle regardless of cause.
10. Damage to Windscreen and Glass of the Vehicle regardless of cause.
11. Damage or loss to the Vehicle and any third party property caused by You or any other driver of the Vehicle driving the Vehicle in a reckless or dangerous manner during the rental period.
12. Damage or loss to the Vehicle and third party property caused or contributed by You where You leave the incident scene prior to police attendance and/or You failing to formally reporting the incident to the police.
13. Damage to the Vehicle and third party property caused by you failing to properly secure any load or equipment to the Vehicle.
14. Damage or loss to the Vehicle while being transported or towed without the Supplier’s authority.
15. The cost of towing or salvage of the Vehicle from a remote or sparsely populated area.
16. Damage or Loss to the Vehicle due to the use of snowchains or roof racks.
17. Damage or loss to any property owned by You or any friend, relative, associate and any person known to You and/or any property in your physical legal control.
18. Legal and any other related expenses on a full indemnity basis and interest as a result of You failing to deliver immediately every summons, complaint, demand or notice in relation to any loss or damage.
7. GENERAL PROVISIONS
1. The Supplier reserves the right to refuse a replacement vehicle and/or hire of another vehicle to you following any accident or incident where You have breached a term of this Rental Agreement.
2. You shall release and indemnify the Supplier and it’s agents and employees from all claims for loss or damage to your personal property or any other person’s property left in the vehicle at any time before, during or after the rental period regardless of the cause.
3. No driver or passenger in the vehicle shall be deemed to be the agent, servant or employee of the Supplier in any manner for any purposes whatsoever.
4. The Supplier gives no express or implied warranty as to any matter whatsoever including but no limited to the condition of the vehicle and equipment, it’s merchantability or fitness for any particular purpose.
5. To the extent permitted by law the Supplier limits its liability for breach of an implied condition or warranty to the replacement, repair or re-supply of the Vehicle.
6. You shall release and indemnify The Supplier from all indirect, special, incidental or consequential damage suffered by any person including You due to any breach of this Rental Agreement by the SupplierSupplier and it’s agents and employees.
8. FUEL
1. You must use the correct type of fuel for the Vehicle at all times.
2. The vehicle must be returned with amount of fuel equal to that at the time of commencement of the rental.
3. If the vehicle is returned with less fuel, the difference shall be charged at a rate, which may include a service component unless prior arrangement has been made and noted on Part A of the contract.
4. Should there be a discrepancy in fuel level recorded on part A to that recorded on Vehicle Inspection report, the one specified on the Vehicle Inspection Report shall be deemed to be the correct one.

A fee of $55 applies between airport and downtown locations in the same city. For any pick up and drop off in Perth Airport, a surcharge of $38.5 will be applied.
9. Orange Rent A Car Australia Information
The operator of Orange Rent A Car Australia offers a large variety of new, well maintained low kilometer vehicles. We provide our best service at very affordable rates.
10. Age Requirements
A minimum age of 21 and a maximum age of 70 are applicable to all rentals. A daily surcharge applies to drivers under 25 years old.
11. Additional Driver
Each additional driver will incur a one-off fee of $10.00 per person inclusive of GST.
12. Government Taxes
All quoted rates include Goods & Services Tax.
13. Standard Damage Cover
All rates quoted include standard damage cover. Our damage cover is strictly subject to Car Rental Terms & Conditions. Please note that the operator of Orange Rent A Car Australia do NOT provide any damage cover for Roof, underbody, water damage, tyre, windscreen and tyre. These will be renter’s full responsibility.
Renter’s liability in case of accident varies depending on the type of vehicle and driver’s age. Please email us for an accurate quote.
14. Optional Liability Reduction Fee
Optional Liability Reduction Fee is available for minimum 3 days rental. Please ask our friendly staff about this option..
15. Kilometres
Rates published on this site include 100 free kms per day.
Excess kms are charged at the following rates:
30 cents per km for economy to family sized sedans
34 cents per km for Luxury, 4WDs and people movers
38 cents per km for Convertible vehicles

16. Long Term Hire Discount
Generous discount available for long term hire. Please enquire at your closest branch now
17. Airport and Hotel Facility
The operator of Orange Rent A Car Australia offers delivery and collection service to and from Perth airports at a fee. Free delivery to hotels and serviced apartments located within 5kms from depot is available for minimum 3 days hire. This free service is not available in conjunction with Hot Deal Rates. (subject to availability) This cannot be guaranteed as is to be requested at point of booking.

When you pick up your vehicle, you will be required to sign a rental agreement with the supplier of the vehicle. Your rental and use of the vehicle will be governed by the terms of the rental agreement and any other documentation or information provided to you by the supplier at the time you pick up your vehicle. The rental agreement is between you and the supplier and we will not be liable to you or to any third party in relation to the terms of the supplier’s rental agreement or any other documentation provided to you by the supplier at the time of pick up.
While we will make reasonable efforts to ensure we are representing only reputable suppliers, we make no warranty about the fitness or suitability of any third party (supplier) product or service and will not accept responsibility for the quality or fitness of any vehicle. We welcome feedback from our customers on their experience with our suppliers. We may, at our discretion, provide you with reasonable assistance in resolving any dispute you may have with a supplier.
Our total liability to you in relation to your use of this website and the information contained on this website will not exceed the dollar amount of the deposit we have received from you in relation to your booking/rental. Refunds will not be made for bookings cancelled due to inclement weather. Again, we strongly recommend that you take out travel insurance. Your use of this website is governed by the laws of New Zealand and the jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.
Booking information
To make a booking you must complete our booking form which is easy to follow and secured with the latest encryption technology. Once we receive your form, we will, subject to availability, confirm your booking by emailing you a confirmation voucher and invoice. The deposit required to secure your vehicle (as shown on the secure booking page) will only be processed on your credit card when your booking is confirmed. Please note that a 1.75% credit card charge will be added when your payment is processed.
A booking is confirmed when you have been emailed a confirmation voucher and at this stage the deposit is processed on your card and becomes non-refundable and any cancellation fees stated in the supplier's terms apply. Upon receipt of your confirmation, please check your details carefully and notify us immediately if there are any incorrect details, as it may not be possible to make changes at a later date.
If you are booking via phone, please make sure you have read the terms and conditions of the vehicle you wish to rent first. Our reservations consultant will ask you if you have read the terms and agree to them before proceeding. The onus is always on the renter to ensure they make themselves fully aware of the terms displayed on our website.
Information disclosure
In booking on this website you acknowledge that we disclose your information to your selected Supplier in order to provide the requested rental services.
Amendments
Please note that some suppliers treat an amendment as a new booking and apply the rate current at the time the amendment is made to recalculate the entire booking amount (not just the days changed). If the rental period is increased, an additional deposit may be required. If the rental period is shortened which results in a reduction of the rental charges, the deposit amount will remain unchanged, and the difference between the original and revised deposit is forfeited (it cannot be used towards remaining rental charges). To request a change to a confirmed booking, please use the alterations request link on your confirmation. Any alterations are subject to availability and the approval of the supplier. In addition to the alteration policy of the supplier stated in their terms, the following charges will apply:
Car rental alterations (all charges stated in local currency):
To change dates or times that result in a recalculation of rental rates, or to change vehicles or locations: 25.00
To add or remove extras to/from a confirmed booking: 10.00
Motorhome rental alterations (all charges stated in local currency):
To change dates or times that result in a recalculation of rental rates, or to change vehicles or locations: 75.00
To add or remove extras to/from confirmed booking: 20.00
The alteration fee will not be charged if your alteration request is not possible.
Vehicle Capacity and fitness to drive
Under no circumstances are you permitted to carry more passengers than the vehicle you rent is legally registered to carry, and if you do your insurance may be invalidated. The number of seatbelts (and passengers) is indicated next to each vehicle on this website. Luggage capacity where shown is an indication only and we will not be responsible should you be unable to fit your entire luggage into a vehicle. It is your responsibility to choose a journey that is within your capabilities. A vehicle supplier can refuse to rent a vehicle to any person who is in their opinion unfit to drive or does not meet eligibility requirements. In such circumstances we will have no further liability to you.

Vehicle Pick up
After arrival and pick up of your luggage at the Airport, please contact the branch on the telephone number provided on your invoice at the time of confirmation of your booking request.
